Description The Spec-Pak-Standard is a patient extrication system that combines the benefits of a short spine board with the complete support of a Class III harness. It is especially well-suited for vertical confined space operations. A polyethylene backboard provides stability and support as well as a smooth surface for patient movement. The Spec-Pak also provides self-adjusting cervical restraint carry handles on both sides to assist with patient movement. It now includes the Spec-Pak Lifting Bridle System which allows for full patient stabilization without the need for a full litter. The Spec-Pak is intended as a limited spinal immobilization system and must be used with proper immobilization techniques where conditions and protocol dictate. Note: The manufacturer has acknowledged that the Spec-Pak lifting ring (located on the back of the board and above the head of the patient) can be used as a lifting attachment. A maximum hang time for a patient in the Spec-Pak in a vertical position is recommended to be less than 5-7 minutes.
